Overview

Nonprofit website design that turns readers into supporters

Nonprofit website design is about trust before it is about looks. We design and build sites for NGOs, charitable trusts, societies, Section 8 companies, foundations and community groups, and our nonprofit web development covers online giving, receipts, volunteer sign-up, campaigns and impact reporting. Organisations working in villages, small towns and metros across India can use these sites to raise money directly and show donors where it went.

A first-time donor asks three quiet questions before giving: is this organisation real, will my money reach the work, and will I get a receipt I can use for tax. Registration details are buried, the bank details sit in an image, and the donate button opens a form that asks for far too much. We fix the path from a stranger reading a story to a supporter with a receipt in their inbox. One thing we say upfront: FCRA handling and 80G eligibility stay your organisation's responsibility. We build the receipt flow to the registration details you give us, and your CA or legal adviser confirms them.

One team

Nonprofit website design and nonprofit web development in one team

An NGO site has to move people and then make giving easy. Those are design and engineering problems, and we solve them side by side.

Design

  • Story-led page structure: the problem, your work, the people helped and the ask, in that order, on every key page.
  • Donation page design with suggested amounts tied to outcomes, a monthly option and only the fields a valid receipt needs.
  • Trust signals placed where doubt appears: registration details, audited reports, trustees and a real contact near the donate button.
  • Accessible design from the start, with readable type, strong contrast, keyboard paths and plain language for every reader.
  • Separate journeys for each kind of supporter: give once, give monthly, volunteer, partner through CSR or attend an event.

Development

  • Razorpay or Stripe checkout for one-time and recurring gifts, with payments landing in the bank account you nominate.
  • Automatic receipts generated as PDFs with your registration details, the donor's PAN and a serial number your accountant can reconcile.
  • Donor records exported for the annual statement of donations your accountant files.
  • Volunteer and event registration with confirmation emails, reminders and a simple admin list for your coordinators.
  • A CMS for stories, campaign updates and reports on WordPress or Next.js, light enough for donors on budget phones.

The team that designs the donate page also writes the code that sends the receipt, so what your board approves is what donors actually use.

What we build

Web design services for nonprofits

Six things we build for NGOs, trusts and foundations.

  • Charity and NGO websites

Mission, programmes, team, reports and stories on a site your staff can update, with the donate button never more than a tap away.
  • Online donation systems

One-time and monthly giving by UPI, cards and netbanking through Razorpay or Stripe, with suggested amounts and instant thank-you emails.
  • 80G receipt generation

Receipts issued automatically after each eligible gift, using the registration details and wording your organisation supplies and checks.
  • Campaign and fundraising pages

Time-bound appeals with a goal, live progress, updates from the field and a link supporters can share on WhatsApp and social media.
  • Volunteer and event sign-up

Forms that capture skills, availability and location, plus event registration with reminders and attendance lists for your team.
  • Redesign & maintenance

NGO website redesign that keeps donor links and search rankings working, plus content updates, backups, security patches and annual report uploads.

Donations & receipts

Donation flows and receipts that donors trust

Charity website design succeeds or fails on the donate page. These four areas decide whether a willing donor actually finishes the gift.

Giving without friction

Suggested amounts, UPI and cards, and a monthly option on one short page. No forced account creation and no surprise steps before payment.

Receipts built to your details

Each eligible donation gets a numbered receipt carrying the registration details you provide. Your CA confirms the format before launch, and staff can resend or correct receipts from the admin.

Recurring donors kept

Monthly giving through gateway subscriptions, a reminder before a card expires and a simple way for donors to change or pause their gift.

Foreign gifts handled carefully

With FCRA registration, foreign-currency gifts can route to the designated account you name; without it, the form accepts Indian donors only. The decision stays with you.
  • Donate button on every page, sticky on mobile
  • UPI, cards, netbanking and wallets
  • 80G receipts generated from your registration details
  • Monthly giving with self-service changes
  • Donor data export for your accountant
  • Thank-you emails and impact updates

One page per programme with the need, the approach, where you work and what a gift pays for.
Donate
Amounts, monthly option, payment methods and receipt details, on a page that loads quickly on a weak signal.
Campaigns
Live appeals with a target, progress and field updates, each on its own shareable URL.
Impact & reports
Annual reports, audited accounts and outcome figures as readable pages, with downloadable PDFs alongside.

80G and FCRA

80G receipts and FCRA: what we build and what stays with you

Indian donors who give to an organisation with 80G approval may be able to claim a deduction, so they expect a proper receipt. We build a receipt generator that pulls your name, PAN, 80G registration number and validity from settings your team controls, adds the donor's name, PAN and amount, and emails a PDF once payment clears. Every gift is logged for your accountant's yearly donation statement.

We are web developers, not tax advisers. Whether you qualify under 80G, which gifts count and how a receipt must be worded are questions for your CA, who signs off the template before launch. FCRA works the same way: if you are registered, foreign donors get a separate path into the account you specify; if not, the site accepts Indian donors only. Compliance with FCRA and income-tax rules remains the NGO's job.

CSR partnerships

Pages that help CSR teams say yes

Corporate CSR managers shortlist partners from their desks, usually before any call. They look for your registration status, CSR-1 details, the programmes that fit their focus areas, the districts you work in and evidence that past funds were well used. If collecting those answers takes a long thread of emails, the budget often goes to an NGO whose website made it simple.

We build a CSR section with programme briefs, a downloadable partnership note, partner logos shown with permission and an enquiry form asking for company, budget range and focus area. Completed projects get report pages, so returning partners see outcomes before renewing.

Why Raqbash

Why choose Raqbash as your nonprofit web design agency

A nonprofit web design agency should care about donor trust and running costs as much as layout. That is where we put our effort.

4.9 rated on Google Reviews
  • Built around the donate path

We design the giving flow first and fit the rest of the site around it, so fundraising is never an afterthought.
  • Receipts done properly

Automatic receipts, resend options and clean exports are scoped on the first call, not bolted on after launch.
  • Accessible by default

Contrast, text size, keyboard use and screen-reader labels are checked on every template, because supporters and beneficiaries include people with disabilities.
  • Light on budget phones

Many supporters browse on entry-level handsets, so we keep pages lean and the donate form quick.
  • Hindi, English and regional languages

Multilingual pages for organisations that serve local communities and also report to national or overseas donors.
  • Your staff can run it

Small teams update stories, campaigns and reports themselves. We train them and stay reachable once the site is live.

Sectors

Nonprofits we design websites for

Different causes raise money and recruit people in different ways. These are the six areas we build for.

How we work

Our nonprofit web development process

Six steps from first call to launch. In step four we run real test donations and check every receipt before a donor ever sees one.

  1. Step 01

    Discover

We learn your cause, registrations, funding sources, current donation methods and who will look after the site day to day.

  2. Step 02

    Design

We design the donate, campaign and volunteer flows as clickable prototypes, then the story and programme pages.

  3. Step 03

    Build

We build the site, load your content into the CMS and connect payments, email and forms.

  4. Step 04

    Test donations & receipts

We make small live gifts by UPI, card and netbanking, compare each receipt with the template your CA approved and run recurring gifts end to end.

  5. Step 05

    Launch

We go live, redirect old URLs, connect analytics and Search Console, and update the links in your email footer and social profiles.

  6. Step 06

    Support

We post campaign updates, upload reports, patch, back up and send a short monthly note on donations and sign-ups.

FAQ

Nonprofit website design FAQs

Questions NGO founders, trustees and fundraising teams ask us about cost, donations, receipts and reach.

How much does nonprofit website design cost?

A cause and information site starts from about ₹40,000. Adding online donations, automatic receipts and volunteer forms raises the cost, and a full fundraising platform with donor accounts and CSR pages raises it again. The main drivers are how many programmes and languages you need, how your receipts must work and what we connect. After a short call we send a written fixed-scope quote.

How long does an NGO website take to build?

A cause and information site typically takes three to five weeks, a donation and volunteer site six to ten, and a fundraising platform ten to sixteen. Delays usually come from content and approvals rather than code. Programme write-ups, photos with consent and a receipt template signed off by your CA all take time, so we plan them from day one.

Do you do both the nonprofit website design and the nonprofit web development?

Yes. One team plans the story, designs the pages and handles the nonprofit web development behind them, from payments to receipts. You don't need to hire a nonprofit website designer and a separate developer and then manage the gap between them. One quote covers both.

Should our NGO website use WordPress or a custom build?

For most small and mid-sized NGOs, WordPress is the practical choice: hosting is cheap and staff can edit stories and reports easily. A custom Next.js build makes sense when online giving is your main channel, you want full control over the donation flow and receipts, or you expect heavy traffic during appeals. We advise once we understand how you raise funds.

Will a new website help our NGO show up on Google?

It helps. We build fast pages, a clean structure, NGO schema markup and programme pages that match how people search, such as a cause plus a city. If you qualify for Google for Nonprofits, its ad grant can send visitors to those pages. Rankings still depend on regular stories, reports and links from partners over time, and nobody can honestly promise a position.

Can the website issue 80G receipts and accept foreign donations?

It can generate 80G receipts automatically, using the details, wording and numbering your organisation and its CA approve; we don't decide or verify eligibility. Foreign donations depend on your FCRA status: registered NGOs can route them to the account they specify, and others accept Indian donors only. FCRA and income-tax compliance stay with you, and we build to your instructions.
