Overview

Photographer website design that shows the work, fast

Photographer website design has an odd tension built in. The work needs to be big, sharp and edge to edge, yet big images are exactly what makes most portfolio sites crawl on a phone. We design and build sites for wedding and pre-wedding photographers, portrait and newborn studios, product and food shooters, commercial and architectural photographers, and videographers. Our photographer website development handles the parts clients never see: image pipelines, private galleries, booking and search markup.

Couples and art directors rarely book from one Instagram post. They want a full story from a single shoot, a sense of your style across different light, a rough idea of packages, and proof that you're free on their date. A website lets you curate that, own the enquiry and stop depending on a feed that shows your best work to only some of your followers. We build the site; the photographs, your style and your client relationships stay yours.

One team

Photography portfolio website design and the build behind it

A photography site has to step out of the way of the images and still sell. We plan the look and the engineering together so neither wins at the other's expense.

Design

  • Edit-first planning: we help you cut the portfolio down to the shoots that win the clients you want, rather than everything you've ever delivered.
  • Quiet layouts that frame photographs instead of competing with them, in a light or dark theme depending on your work.
  • Gallery patterns chosen per genre: story sequences for weddings, grids for products, single large frames for fine art.
  • Package pages laid out so clients understand coverage hours, deliverables and add-ons before they enquire.
  • A booking path that asks for date, venue, type of shoot and budget, so your first reply can be a real quote.

Development

  • An image pipeline that generates AVIF and WebP in several sizes from each upload, so phones never download a desktop file.
  • A priority-loaded hero and lazy-loaded gallery frames with blurred placeholders, which keeps Largest Contentful Paint low.
  • Password-protected client galleries with favourites, comments, download permissions and optional watermarks.
  • Availability checks and deposits through Razorpay or Stripe, with confirmations by email or WhatsApp.
  • Descriptive file names, alt text, ImageObject markup and an image sitemap, with location data stripped where privacy needs it.

One team edits the layout and tunes the image code, so the gallery you sign off on a laptop looks as sharp and loads as quickly on a client's phone.

What we build

Photography website services

What we build for photographers, studios and videographers. Most sites use four or five of these.

  • Portfolio websites

Curated galleries by genre or shoot, with full-screen viewing, swipe on mobile and a clear route from a favourite image to an enquiry.
  • Client proofing galleries

Private galleries per client with passwords or expiring links, favourites for album selection and controlled downloads.
  • Booking and packages

Package pages, an availability check, enquiry forms that capture the details you need, and deposits paid online.
  • Videographer sites

Reels, wedding films and brand videos hosted on Vimeo, YouTube or Mux, with poster frames that keep pages light.
  • Print and product sales

Fine-art prints, albums, presets and gift vouchers sold through your own checkout, with sizes and finishes as options.
  • Redesign & maintenance

Moving off a slow template without losing your image rankings, plus new galleries, seasonal offers, backups and updates.

Galleries & proofing

Fast galleries, private proofing and image SEO

Photography sites live or die on four things. Each one is a technical job as much as a design choice.

Full-bleed without the wait

Each image is served at the size the screen needs, in a modern format, with the first frame prioritised. The page looks full-screen and still passes Core Web Vitals on mobile.

Proofing clients trust

Clients log in, heart their favourites, leave notes for retouching and download what you've allowed. Galleries can expire, and nothing private is indexed by search engines.

Enquiries that arrive qualified

The form asks for date, location, shoot type and package interest. You reply with a quote instead of five questions, and clashing dates are flagged.

Images that can be found

Alt text written for each key image, sensible file names, ImageObject data and local pages for the areas you shoot in help search engines understand the work.
  • Responsive AVIF and WebP images
  • Prioritised hero and lazy-loaded galleries
  • Password-protected client galleries
  • Package pages with an availability check
  • Image sitemap and alt text on key images
  • Watermarks and download controls on proofs

What a photographer's website needs

A typical sitemap for a photographer or studio. Good photography web page design gives each page one job, and we trim the list to your genres.

Wedding photographers

Wedding photography website design for the Indian wedding season

Indian weddings run over several days, with mehendi, haldi, sangeet, the ceremony and the reception, often at different venues and sometimes in different cities. A wedding photography website design should mirror that. We build stories that move through each function, package pages priced by days or events rather than hours, and enquiry forms that collect every date at once.

Season dates fill months ahead, so the availability check matters. Couples can see whether their muhurat dates are open, place a hold with a deposit and get a confirmation they can share with family. Pre-wedding shoots, destination add-ons and wedding films sit alongside, so a couple can book the photo and video team in one go. Contracts and cancellation terms are yours to set; we put them on the page clearly.

Studios and videographers

Photography studio website design and videographer web design

A photography studio sells a place as well as a person. Photography studio website design shows the space, the backdrops and lighting kit, hire terms if you rent it out, and a booking calendar for both shoots and studio slots. Product photographers need something different again: clear turnaround times, how per-image pricing works, sample before-and-after edits and an upload path for brands sending briefs.

Videographer web design is mostly about not making the site heavy. Self-hosting video on a basic server is how portfolio pages end up crawling. We host reels on Vimeo, YouTube or Mux, show a still poster frame until someone presses play, and keep any autoplay muted and short. Wedding films, brand videos and showreels each get their own page with credits and the story behind the shoot.

Why Raqbash

Why photographers choose Raqbash

A photographer's website is judged in the first second it loads. We sweat the image engineering so your work looks the way you edited it.

4.9 rated in Ahmedabad on Google Reviews
  • We care about the images

Colour profiles, sharpening on resize and aspect ratios are checked, so your edits don't come out muddy or awkwardly cropped.
  • Speed you can see

We measure load time with your real galleries on mid-range phones, not with lightweight placeholder images.
  • Privacy for client work

Private galleries stay out of search, location data can be removed, and you decide exactly what is public.
  • Built for the busy season

Availability, holds and deposits are planned around how you book, so peak months don't turn into an inbox mess.
  • Local search for your city

Area pages, Google Business Profile links and structured data help couples and brands near you find the studio.
  • Easy to update

Adding a new shoot is a drag-and-drop upload, and resizing and compression happen automatically.

How we work

Our photographer website development process

Six steps from kickoff to launch. Step four is where we load your real galleries and test speed and proofing on actual phones.

  1. Step 01

    Discover

We review your portfolio, genres, packages, how clients book today and which gallery or proofing tools you already pay for.

  2. Step 02

    Curate & design

We help you edit down the portfolio, then design the home, gallery and package templates around your strongest work.

  3. Step 03

    Build

We build the site, set up the image pipeline and CMS, and connect booking, payments and enquiries.

  4. Step 04

    Load galleries & test

We upload your full-resolution work, check colour and sharpness after compression, time page loads on mid-range phones and run a proofing session with a test client.

  5. Step 05

    Launch

We redirect old portfolio URLs, submit an image sitemap and connect your Google Business Profile.

  6. Step 06

    Support

We add new shoots and seasonal packages, keep storage tidy and send a short note on enquiries each month.

Cost & timeline

Photographer website cost and timeline

Three common scopes for photographers and studios. Each one comes with a fixed-scope quote before we start.

Curation takes longer than building. Choosing which shoots to show is hard for most photographers, so we set a deadline for the final selection in week one.

FAQ

Photographer website design FAQs

Questions photographers, studios and videographers ask us about cost, speed, client galleries and getting found.

How much does photographer website design cost?

A portfolio site with galleries, packages and an enquiry form starts from about ₹40,000. Adding client proofing, availability checks and deposits costs more, and studio sites with a store or several photographers more again. Price depends on how many galleries we set up, which booking and proofing features you need, and whether we migrate an old site. You get a fixed-scope quote after a short call.

How long does it take to build a photography website?

A portfolio site usually takes three to four weeks, a booking and proofing site five to eight, and a studio platform eight to twelve. Choosing the final images is what usually holds things up, so we agree a selection deadline at kickoff and build around it.

Do you handle both photographer website design and photographer website development?

Yes, one team does both. Designers plan the galleries, package pages and booking path; developers build the image pipeline, private galleries and payments. You get one quote, and the gallery you approve is exactly what goes live.

Should I use Squarespace, WordPress or a custom site?

Squarespace and similar builders work for a simple portfolio if you're happy with their templates and speed. WordPress gives you more control over galleries, blogging and plugins. For photographers who want the fastest full-screen galleries with proofing and booking built in, we usually recommend Next.js with an image CDN such as Cloudinary. We suggest one after seeing your work and how you book.

Will big images slow my site down and hurt SEO?

Not if they're handled properly. We create several sizes and modern formats from each upload, load the first image straight away and the rest as visitors scroll. That keeps Core Web Vitals healthy. We add alt text, file names and an image sitemap so search engines can index your work. Ranking still depends on your content and reviews, and no one can promise a position.

Can my clients view, select and download their photos on my website?

Yes. Each client gets a private gallery with a password or an expiring link. They can mark favourites for albums, leave retouching notes and download the sizes you allow, with watermarks if you want them. If you already use Pixieset, Pic-Time or ShootProof, we can link or embed it instead of rebuilding what works.

What about consent and privacy for the people in my photos?

Publishing photos of clients, guests and children needs their permission, and that is your call and your contract. We help on the technical side: private galleries kept out of search, location data stripped from public images, and a simple way to take a photo down on request. Your own legal advisor should confirm the wording of model releases and contracts.
